Could Leafs/Canucks be among Saturday's postponements?
By the sounds of things, there will be more postponements coming in the NHL on Saturday due to the current spike in positive COVID-19 test results. At this point, it's unclear whether whether Leafs/Canucks game this evening will be one of them.
The Leafs had four players enter the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol List on Friday, starting with captain
John Tavares and linemate
Alexander Kerfoot during the afternoon, with Wayne Simmonds and Jason Spezza being added to the list late Friday evening.
The NHL has already implemented changes to its league-wide protocols, including mandatory masks at all times, no in-restaurant dining and a shift from in-person to virtual meetings, among other changes.
TSN's Pierre LeBrun believes that we are trending towards a possible pause to the season, which should not come as a surprise to anyone.
In addition to four Leafs being placed in COVID protocol on Friday, Vancouver Canucks defenseman
Tyler Myers was placed in COVID protocol on Saturday.
