The Toronto Maple Leafs extend wonderful offer to Jim Gaudreau, the uncle of the late Johnny Gaudreau ahead of the morning skate earlier today in Boston.

The NHL has done a fantastic job at keeping the Gaudreau family involved in NHL activities in any capacity possible this season.
After the unfortunate passing of both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau this past summer, several family members, including the parents Guy and Jane, have been invited to take part in a variety of events including pre-game ceremonies, practice sessions, and morning skates among other things.
Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs joined in on that heartwarming trend as they invited Jim Gaudreau, the uncle of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, to their morning skate.
Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has developed a very close relationship with the Gaudreau family, stemming back to his time as Calgary Flames GM, so the front office decided to give him an invite as the team laced up their skates at TD Garden in advance of their matchup with the Boston Bruins tonight.
Other instances of these touching gestures included John Tortorella and the Philadelphia Flyers inviting Guy Gaudreau to join them for on-ice sessions during their training camp. The Vegas Golden Knights just recently invited Gaudreau's father to attend their game against Vancouver, and he was also in attendance during the 4 Nations Face-Off for Team USA.
The NHL is also expected to plan tributes for both Johnny and Matthew throughout the Stadium Series matchup matchup between Columbus and the Detroit Red Wings, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. at Ohio Stadium, the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The pair of brothers may be gone, but as the season wears on, it's becoming very clear that they won't be forgotten. Neither will their families, who have had to endure unfathomable heartache since that fateful night back in August.
