A few months ago, the update on Carey Price was not good and it had appeared that his career may be over. At the time, the Habs and GM Kent Hughes said he was hoping for an update before July 13th, the first day of free agency. With a week to go before then, Price obliged and provided the Habs with their much needed update.

According to Shaun Starr of TSN, Price had a minor clean up done on his knee this summer and is doing very well. He is also expected to be ready for the start of the season, but the Habs will be managing his workload and limiting him to 50 games for the season.

This is great news for Habs fans as they get the future HHOF goalie back for a full season. I'm certainly no Habs fan, but you can't help but cheer for Price with all he has done for the game and the community. He's a true class act.

As we've seen when Price has been hurt in the past, The Canadiens don't seem to have an abundance of confidence in whoever is in net. However, when Price is playing and when he's on his game, the Canadiens are in almost every game. With players like Price, you don't want to see an injury being what ends it. You want him to play as long as possible and want to see him end his career on his own terms. Thankfully for the Habs, his most recent update looks like it may allow him to continue playing and do just that.
