Following yesterday's trade, in which Leafs GM Kyle Dubas brought in a legitimate top-4 defensive defenseman in Jake McCabe and defensively responsible speedster Sam Lafferty, the GM called a press conference to discuss the trade and a variety of other topics. During the presser, Dubas made it very clear that the Leafs are still going to continue to look for ways to improve the team even after having already brought in 4 new players in Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari and the two aforementioned former Blackhawks.

Dubas told the members of the media who were present that he still has time on his side and that he intends to use it. The deadline is set for Friday, March 3rd at 3pm ET, so Dubas still has 3 days to evaluate other teams and try to find some additional upgrades. As it turns out, it wasn't just lip service, as the Leafs GM dispatched scouts to take in last night's Blackhawks/Ducks game.

The Leafs currently need to clear more than $1M in cap space to be able to activate Matt Murray from LTIR. Dubas had declared yesterday that the Leafs intend to have Murray back this week, so it stands to reason that he does indeed have another move on the way. The question is; when he moves someone out, will he bring someone else in? Or will he simply try to obtain some additional draft capital after trading away 6 draft picks from the next few drafts.
