Playing defense in the National Hockey League is not easy and it can be even tougher for a forward who comes in hard on the back check to try to prevent a scoring chance. For Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg, trying to avoid getting danced by Sharks forward Timo Meier resulted in a pretty embarrassing play.

Late in the 2nd period, down a goal, Meier came streaking along the wing and into the Ducks' zone and attempted to dipsy-doodle around Silfverberg. As he slid the puck under Silfverberg's stick and maneuvered around him, the Ducks forward was first with his stick on the puck and ripped an absolute bullet through an unsuspecting Anthony Stolarz, who appeared to be caught off guard by the shot from his own player. The kicker? It was a game-tying goal.

Thankfully for the Ducks, they were able to hang on and, while the Sharks forced overtime on a late Erik Karlsson goal (to complete the hat-trick), the Ducks took this one in a shootout by a score of 6-5.

Still, Silfverberg will be having nightmares about this one.
