A third round pick, 95th overall in this past June's draft, Nick Moldenhauer currently leads the USHL in scoring with the Chicago Steel. In his third season with the Steel, he's registered 10 goals and 7 assists in 11 games so far.

Yesterday Moldenhauer announced that he has committed to the powerhouse University of Michigan. He'll join the Wolverines beginning in the 2023-24 season

Michigan previously boasted recent first overall pick Owen Power and currently boasts the likes of Rutger McGroarty, former Steel teammate Adam Fantilli and Luke Hughes. While dominant in the regular season, Michigan has struggled in the Frozen Four tournament, much like the Leafs do in the playoffs so Moldenhauer could be well versed in dealing with tough losses when he joins the Leafs' system. (Couldn't help myself!)
