The NHL saw 12 teams in game action on Friday night. One of these matchups was the Vancouver Canucks facing off against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Canucks were coming into this game with a record of 1-5-2, vastly underperforming to their expectations, while the Penguins were coming in with a 4-2-1 record, which is a good start, but they had lost their previous two games. Vancouver ended up winning the game 5-1, but the final score wasn't the only thing of note to come out of this game.

During a scrum after the whistle, Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson made a slight gesture towards Penguins Forward Bryan Rust and Rust responded with a massive flinch. See for yourself below:

What's interesting is that OEL is not known for his physical play, much less intimidating his opponents. Perhaps Rust didn't know who he was even flinching for. Either way, it produced an entertaining clip and it appears the Canucks won the mental game along with the game on the ice.

The two teams meet again on January 10th in Pittsburgh, and it will be interesting to see if that game will have more intensity and physical play than their matchup would normally have.
