Another player reveals what playing at Mullett Arena was like; again, it's remarkably positive
Following a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Winnipeg Jets in the Arizona Coyotes' new temporary home in ASU's Mullett Arena, Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois actually paid the Yotes a compliment on their arena, stating that the ice might be the best he's ever played on in the NHL. Now, it appears as though another Jets player enjoyed his time there as well.
The now-former Jets captain Blake Wheeler didn't mind the smaller, more intimate setting and didn't mind the visitors "locker room" accommodations (essentially just curtains and folding chairs). He appreciated what the Yotes have done to try to make their arena situation as good as it can be under the circumstances.
"All in all, I think it was made out to be a lot worse than what it actually was. As long as you have a spot to put your gear on, talk about the game. It really is a beautiful college hockey rink. I've played in way worse arenas, for sure."
-Wheeler on his first Mullett Arena experience
Maybe this whole thing is being overblown? Maybe the Yotes' arena situation is not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be..
