With the 2022-2023 NHL season here after a very long summer, we can all get excited for what this year is going to bring! Super early predictions are going to start coming out and Elliotte Friedman kicked it off on 32 Thoughts with a surprising take on who could be in the running for the Vezina Trophy this year.

Friedman believes that Thatcher Demko will be in the running for the league's top netminder. Friedge had this to say about Thatcher Demko of the Vancouver Canucks.

Demko, 26, is coming off a season that saw him play a career high 64 games for the Canucks posting a 2.72 GAA and a .915 save percentage. The 2014 second round pick (36th overall) took over the net in Vancouver when Jacob Markstrom left the team in 2020.

Demko has some stiff competition for the award, with Andrei Vasilevskiy, Juuse Saros, Jacob Markstrom, Connor Hellebuyck, Frederik Andersen and 2021-22 reigning Vezina Trophy winner all expected to challenge once again.
