Evander Kane back in the headlines after publicly slamming the HDA
Another year, another piece of Evander Kane drama to unpack. For a player who possesses as much skill as Kane does, he certainly can't seem to keep his nose clean when it comes to the off-ice antics long enough to become a bona-fide star.
On Friday, Kane took to social media to announce that he'd be "stepping away" from the Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA), citing his primary reason as being that the organization is now being led by individuals who are trying to fuel their own agendas. Kane's statement can be viewed below:
As you can imagine, Kane's accusations have been refuted by the HDA, who have issued their own statement in attempt to clear things up for people who may have bought into Kane's accusatory statement. Among the most interesting points in the HDA's response was that Kane has reportedly not been involved with the organization in more than two years.
I'd image this isn't the last we'll hear about this, especially with Kane seemingly always trying to make things about himself.
