Well, another World Championship tournament is in the books and with Canada coming back late in the game to force overtime, many thought that a gold medal was well within reach. Unfortunately, Finland had other plans, scoring the game-winner shortly after captain Thomas Chabot was called for hooking, leading to a powerplay for the home team, where Sakari Manninen would make no mistake, securing gold for Finland.

In addition to the questionable call on Chabot, young Cole Sillinger was the subject of a questionable call on a phantom high-stick that was very frustrating for the Canadians, as it was Miro Heiskanen's own stick that came up and caught him in the face - not Sillinger's.

After the game, both Chabot and teammate Pierre-Luc Dubois spoke to the media, airing their frustrations about the questionable officiating, with Chabot indicating that he felt as though the Finland skater clearly dove to draw the call. Dubois also let his frustrations be known, stating:

"You know when you come to these tournaments, you know it's different rules, but at some point it's frustrating... you don't even know the rulebook anymore. They played a good game, we played a good game - They won, they're the best team in the tournament. It sucks, to put in that much effort and then for that to happen in overtime in a gold medal game... yeah."
