Every year, when teams are finally eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we hear of the severity of the injuries that they've either played through or had been trying to battle back from. We saw it this year already with Washington's Tom Wilson, who had been attempting to work his way back from an ACL injury that was so bad that his ACL needed to be completely reconstructed, which will have him sidelined for as many as 8 months.

Hockey players are a different kind of tough, man. The latest report has Calgary's Chris Tanev dealing with a trio of significant injuries, at least one of which will require surgery now that the Flames have been eliminated from the Playoffs. Per The Athletic's Rick Dhaliwal, Tanev was playing through a torn labrum, a separated shoulder and a sprained neck.

Despite his significant injuries, Tanev played in Games 4 and 5 for the Flames, averaging over 20 minutes of ice time, taking 29 and 35 shifts, respectively. He also registered an assist in Game 4 and finished as a +2 in Game 5. If that's not the definition of a warrior, I don't know what is.
