A former Toronto Maple Leaf has inked a new multi-year deal on Saturday, which will see him remain in the desert with the Arizona Coyotes through the 2023-24 season - or wherever it is that they'll be relocating to. I joke, I joke. (But, no.. seriously)..

Travis Boyd, who was waived after playing 20 games with the Leafs last season, was claimed by the Vancouver Canucks in 2020-21, playing 19 games with the BC franchise before hitting unrestricted free agency this summer.

Boyd signed a 1-year, league minimum deal with the Coyotes back in August, as he felt that it would give him an opportunity to play regular minutes in an attempt to establish himself as a full-time NHLer.

Boyd has done just that, playing higher in the lineup than I think even he expected, centering the Yotes' top line, flanked by Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. The 28-year-old center has already set new in both goals (10) and points (24) in 46 games in Arizona this season.

Now with a new two-year deal, Boyd can focus on continuing to build himself up as a player and filling an important role for his team as they continue along with their top-to-bottom rebuild. Congrats to the Hopkins, MN native.
