You know, for all that Jaromir Jagr has accomplished in his storied, surefire first-ballot Hall of Fame career, you'd think he'd be content to just ride off into the sunset and enjoy life after hockey. However, at 50 years old, Jagr has resumed his pro hockey career, playing in his native Czechia, in what is his 34th season playing pro hockey. It's truly astonishing.

This afternoon, during Kladno's game in the top men's league in Czechia, a former Leaf, 40-year-old Tomas Plekanec, set up Jagr for his first goal of the season in just his 7th game back after missing the first half of the season as he pondered his future. What's more is that it was actually a pretty goal on a 2-on-1 off of a turnover at center ice.

Jagr, who had lost his father, Jaromir Jagr Sr. earlier this year, had already contemplated retirement this summer, but elected to come back for at least one more season. It must be a challenge for someone like Jagr, who has played hockey for most of his life, to let the game go, especially when he gets to play it at home in Czechia. One of these years, I'm sure he'll finally hang up the skates. For now, though, he looks to still be in very good shape at 50 years old and still looks to be enjoying playing the game he loves.
