Former Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen was on the wrong side of the exciting moment when David Pastrnak scored his 50th goal of the season during Carolina's 4-3 shootout loss against Boston last night. Naturally, the goal was allowed in typical Andersen fashion - the good ole gaping five-hole.

Now that's the type of goal Leafs fans have seen scored on them many times at the hands of Andersen. This is the first time Pastrnak has hit 50 goals in his career. The closest he's been before now was during the 2019-2020 season when he reached 48 goals in what seemed like a footrace between him, Alexander Ovechkin and Auston Matthews to see who would hit 50 first before the season ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pastrnak is now the second player to hit 50 goals this season behind Connor McDavid. The Bruins and Hurricanes are currently at the top of the Metropolitan and Atlantic Divisions and are #1 and #2 the NHL, respectively.
