The Leafs news feed has slowed considerably over the past week or so, but that's the drawback to golfing early every postseason. Still, there are a few tidbits that come out here and there. As far as today's news goes, a former Maple Leafs defender has hit the waiver wire on Saturday.

Per CapFriendly's official Twitter account, St. Louis Blues defenseman Calle Rosen has found himself on waivers, presumably for the purpose of assigning him to the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds, who are still competing in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Rosen and the Blues were dealt a tough loss on Friday, when veteran forward Darren Helm potted a long distance goal on Blues netminder Ville Husso with just over 5 seconds remaining in the third period, skating away with a 3-2 win in regulation time and a 4-2 series win for the Avs, who have officially punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals against the Edmonton Oilers.

If Rosen clears waivers on Sunday, it's expected that he'll join the Thunderbirds on their quest for a Calder Cup. The club is currently 5-0 in the postseason and is looking to snuff out the Charlotte Checkers tonight and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Laval Rocket await them.

Rosen appeared in just 18 games for the Blues this season, posting 2 goals and 7 points over that span. He also appeared in 9 playoff games for the Blues, though he was held pointless. He was also directly responsible for the injury to Blues netminder Jordan Binnington, after colliding with Kadri, sending both players crashing into Binnington in Game 3, forcing the former Stanley Cup winner to the sidelines for the remainder of the series, and as it turns out, the playoffs as well.

The 28-year-old also appeared in 40 games for the Thunderbirds this season in the AHL, recording 4 goals and 24 assists for 28 points over that span.
