Just 24 hours ago, former Leafs netminder Jonathan Bernier, best known for ruining the good thing the Leafs had with James Reimer and, of course, his admiration for the late Nelson Mandela, announced his retirement. A Leaf from 2013-14 to 2015-16, Bernier played 141 games for the Leafs. Missing the playoffs in all 3 seasons.

John Scott, best remembered for being voted in by fans to serve as Captain of the Pacific Division team at the 2016 All-Star game despite having scored only 5 career goals, took to social media to congratulate Bernier in the funniest way possible. Scott posted a highlight of a goal he scored against Bernier after the Leafs goaltender bobbled a simple dump in.

I suppose a guy like Scott, who only scored 5 goals over an 8 year NHL career has to take his shots when he can. After all, there are only 4 other goalies in NHL history he can say that he's snuck one past. It is nice to see that hockey players are able to grow a personality post retirement. Hopefully Bernier has a good sense of humour about it, otherwise we could see a repeat of the famous Toronto Vs Buffalo line brawl of 2013, which saw both Scott and Bernier drop the gloves!
