If you want to see old school hockey in today's NHL, the Lou Lamouriello run New York Islanders and John Tortorella coached Philadelphia Flyers are probably your best bet. On Saturday, the Isles and Flyers treated fans to their brand of hockey.

Late in the third period of Saturday night's tilt between the aforementioned Flyers and Islanders, the Isles were comfortably ahead 5-2. Kevin Hayes found himself in the trolley tracks and took a solid, clean hit from Alexander Romanov. A crowd gathered, a scrum ensued, and in the middle of it were Tony DeAngelo and Oliver Wahlstrom.

DeAngelo is as well known around the NHL for his offensive skills as well as his political views and questionable opinions. Unfortunately for Tony D, his tough demeanour doesn't hold up under pressure. DeAngelo dropped his gloves and started throwing punches before Wahlstrom even knew what was happening. Wahlstrom, who reportedly spent time training in MMA with Matt Martin in the off season, quickly turned the tables and proceeded to beat the snot out of DeAngelo.

Honestly, I can't say I feel bad for DeAngelo, even after Wahlstrom gave him a few extra shots and made him look ridiculous by holding him down long after the fight was decided. After all, this is a guy who fought his own goalie while playing for the New York Rangers.
