Hockey Insider links the Leafs to a Ducks defenseman, if they decide to sell at the deadline
TSN's Darren Dreger has been hard at work exploring some of the names who might be available come the trade deadline in approximately two months time, and the name he has brought up in connection with the Leafs should peak the interest of Leafs Nation.
It's still unclear what will happen with the Anaheim Ducks, who currently sit in 3rd place in the Pacific Division, with both Calgary and San Jose nipping at their heels, but pending UFA
Josh Manson could be on the move and Dreger likes the fit in Toronto.
"Josh Manson is another name, what are they doing with him in Anaheim? I'd have eyes on him," said Dreger. "He can play whatever style you want.. expiring contracts are important."
While it's still early to determine if Manson will be made available, his name has been in the rumour mill for at least the last two seasons. If it looks as though the Ducks will end up being a bubble team, it could definitely make some sense to ship off Manson and recoup and asset or two.
If the Ducks do indeed decide to move Manson, the Leafs should definitely be interested, given the fact that he checks a lot of boxes for GM Kyle Dubas in Toronto.
