After a Stanley Cup Final appearance, the Habs had a disastrous season and probably regret trading that first round pick, as it could've helped with the rebuild currently under way. The news just got worse for new Habs GM Kent Hughes.
According to Habs correspondent Jimmy Murphy, the Habs should be considered lucky if they can even get a third round pick for Christian Dvorak should they decide to trade him. That's definitely not the return Hughes would be expecting for a player who was originally brought in to be the team's 2C.
Dvorak, 26, is coming off a season that saw him post 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in 56 games. Those aren't great numbers for a player of Dvorak's caliber - especially after absolutely dominating the OHL with current Leaf Mitch Marner and Matthew Tkachuk not long ago. The expectations have been high for Dvorak, but unfortunately as of now, the 2014 2nd round pick just hasn't lived up to the hype.
