Former NHLer and Spittin Chiclets co-host Ryan Whitney, who was only able to sign a long-term deal thanks to playing with Sidney Crosby (#ThanksSid), is predicting that the Leafs will never win a Stanley Cup again. Whitney also predicts that Patrick Kane will sign with Buffalo next off-season and will take a hometown discount. Not only is Whitney all in on the Leafs never winning a Cup, but he believes the Buffalo Sabres will win one before the Leafs do.

A bit of a bold statement from Whitney there given that Buffalo hasn't even made the playoffs since the 2010-2011 season and have been in a rebuilding phase for the last 11 years. Credit where credit is due in that the Sabres are developing quite the prospect and young talent pool including Owen Power, Dylan Cozens and Devon Levi, but they still do not have any major game breakers or superstars that every team needs.

The Sabres will be good, eventually, maybe, if they don't decide to blow up this rebuild again, but they most certainly won't win a cup before the Leafs.
