There is never a dull moment in the hockey world when it comes to the Leafs and today is no different. The Leafs are having their end-of-season media availability today while players do their exit interviews and clean out their stalls to officially end another disappointing playoff run.

Early this morning however, it was reported by Frank Seravalli and other "insiders" that the Calgary Flames have expressed interest in one of the Leafs' front office staff for their vacant GM position. There is much speculation about the future of Kyle Dubas, however it is not him that the Flames are interested in. The Flames are hoping to be granted permission to speak with Leafs Assistant General Manager and cap wizard Brandon Pridham. Pridham played a significant roll in developing the salary cap system and understands the ins and outs better than almost anyone and we have seen him use that knowledge to help the Leafs stay under the cap by using every possible loophole countless times.

This would be a huge blow to the Leafs' front office, especially if Dubas also leaves as Pridham was likely a top candidate to replace Dubas if he left. With him still under contract to the Leafs though, the Leafs will have final say about whether or not he is able to speak to Calgary about their vacant GM position.
