During yesterday's World Hockey Championship game between Sweden and Austria, former Leaf defenseman Rasmus Sandin delivered one of the biggest and cleanest hip-checks we have seen in a while. Sandin caught draft prospect David Reinbacher with a beautiful hip-check that sent Reinbacher flying through the air.

Unfortunately for Reinbacher, the hit caught one of his knees as he tried to squeeze by and left him injured on the play. There was nothing dirty about the hit, it was just an unfortunate circumstance. Following the game, it was reported that Reinbacher will miss the rest of the World Hockey Championships due to the injury he sustained from the hit and he could be out long-term depending on test results.

Reinbacher was a projected top-5 pick at one point in the upcoming NHL entry draft and was expected to be the first defenseman off the board. The 6'2, 185 pound, right-shot defenceman was ranked 5th among European Skaters by NHL Central Scouting and has been deemed the most "NHL ready" defenseman available.
