One of those teams, per Frank Seravalli, is the Leafs. In a way, it makes sense, given the injury history to Matt Murray. However, for that to happen, the Leafs would have to send salary out the door, likely being Alexander Kerfoot and/or Justin Holl and have Columbus retain some of Quick's $5.8M cap hit.
At the moment, Seravalli's proposition seems to be pure conjecture. The Leafs have not been officially linked to Quick ahead of this year's deadline. There's also the fact that Kyle Dubas recently told members of the media that he was entirely satisfied with where the Leafs are in terms of goaltending depth with Joseph Woll and Erik Kallgren playing behind Ilya Samsonov and the aforementioned Murray.
TSN's Pierre LeBrun believes that Columbus will indeed look to move Quick to a playoff contender, but there's no word yet on who they may be conversation with.
