Jack Eichel made his return to Buffalo Thursday night and was unceremoniously welcomed by Sabres' fans with a chorus of boos.

Eichel, who requested a trade in the offseason after the Sabres would not allow for him to get his desired neck surgery - did not feel welcomed by the Buffalo crowd. Eichel was not happy in his post game availability and took some shots at Sabres fans, including this dagger.

«That's the loudest I've heard this place, ever. It only took 7 years and me leaving for them to get into it.»

Eichel prioritized his health over his loyalty to Buffalo. He had to deal with a dumpster fire on the ice and an ownership group that wouldn't let him get healthy off the ice.

After being traded to Vegas, Eichel got his desired surgery and is looking like his old self with 7 points in 10 games. This may not be the end of the saga between Sabres fans and their former captain.

Earlier this week, Eichel wanted to communicate that he had no bitterness towards the Sabres organization. He seemed pretty bitter after this one.
