Jacob Trouba is once again at the center of some questionable hit controversy, this time on Carolina Hurricanes forward Max Domi. During the first period, just as the Rangers/Hurricanes past the midway point of the frame, Trouba cut across the ice to finish a check on Domi. The only problem was, Domi was already on his way down. The result was an absolutely violent hit that Canes forward Steven Lorentz wasted no time in trying to hold Trouba accountable for.

It will be interesting to see how Player Safety views this one. There's no question that Domi going down is what caused the head contact. But, did Trouba have enough time to avoid the hit, or was he already committed?

Trouba was not issued a penalty for his hit on Domi, but he did go off for 5 minutes for fighting. The Canes were forced to kill a penalty though, as Lorentz got 5 for fighting, 2 for instigating and a 10 minute misconduct. The Rangers scored on the ensuing power play and never relinquished the lead, taking Game 4 to tie the series up at 2 games apiece.
