Amidst all the hullabaloo of the race and driver Max Verstappen looking for his 2nd consecutive Canadian Grand Prix victory, there were several NHLers in the audience including Cole Caufield, Trevor Zegras, Jack Hughes and, of course, Mitch Marner.
Marner's weekend not only included a jersey swap with Team Red Bull drivers in Verstappen and Sergio Perez, but he also taught them how to shoot on a net - with a hockey stick and tennis balls from long-distance.
While Marner had fun under the sun with fellow athletes, he is usually a busy man during the summer as his Marner Assist Foundation hosts events in the month of July. "The goal for the Marner Assist Foundation is to generate sustainable change for children by providing resources that will make a significant impact on their lives."
His summer has already been busy with trade rumours and chatter about breaking up the Core-4. However, for at least one weekend, Marner looked to be enjoying his time off away from the Toronto media and the rumour mill.
