John Tavares is making the most of a healthy off season. Attends charity hockey game with Gary Roberts
Last summer, John Tavares was in a rough spot. The Leafs Captain had suffered a horrible concussion and a knee injury during the Leafs first round loss to the Montreal Canadiens. This summer, Johnny Toronto is doing much better.
The Boots and Hearts charity Barn Burner took place on Wednesday night in Barrie, ON. The game raised $155,000 for local charities and included names like John Tavares, Andrew Mangiapane, Tyler Seguin, Quinton Byfield and even Gary Roberts. Team Denim and Team Plaid finished the game in a 14-14 tie.
Tavares scored this absolutely filthy goal in the shootout segment of the game. It looks like he's having a much better offseason than last year, his hands look quicker than we've seen in the past. He also looks like he's having a lot more fun. All of this bodes well for Tavares to have a strong bounce back season after a year that saw his goal scoring drop off.
