During Game 3 of the Avs/Blues series in round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Blues defenseman Calle Rosen was attempting to make a defensive play on Avs forward Nazem Kadri, who was streaking towards the Blues net at high speed, looking to bat in a rebound. Rosen ended up clipping Kadri, with both players running into St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington, resulting in an injury.

After the game, while Nazem Kadri was taking part in a post game interview with the NHL on TNT panel, he appeared to be distracted by something going on beside him, revealing that Binnington may have thrown a water bottle at him during his interview. Here's the clip of the incident:

On Tuesday, Binnington had an opportunity to touch on the water bottle toss. The 2019 Stanley Cup Champ did not even try to hide it, fully admitting to throwing the bottle at Kadri, explaining his rationale behind the decision.

I went to get my knee checked out mid-game. I was coming back to the rink, and the game just ended. Walking down the hallway, I couldn't find a recycling bin on my way down the hallway.

Right before I walked into the locker room, I see him kind of doing an interview there, smiling, laughing and I'm there in a knee brace limping down the hallway. I just felt like it was a God-given opportunity.

I could just stay silent and go in the room or I could say something and just have him look me in the eye and understand what's going on, something to think about. Yeah I just threw the water bottle, an empty water bottle, it landed like 2 feet from him

It is what it is there. I mean, but it is what it is. It's hockey and it's a competitive game. So ... that's it.

Binnington losing his cool is not a new occurrence. He has also swung his goal stick at an opponent and faked a punch at another in the past.
