After a nightmare of a first game against the Montreal Canadiens, Holl has settled in nicely, posting back-to-back solid outings against the Washington Capitals and Ottawa Senators, both in winning efforts. In fact, Holl potted the game-winner, though he jabbed at teammate Michael Bunting after the game, stating that claiming his goal sounds like something Bunts would do.
Holl also shared a funny exchange with TSN's Mark Masters during his post-game interview after Masters had identified Holl as someone who doesn't tend to score a lot of goals. You can see the full exchange below.
Holl does take a lot of heat from the fanbase and not a lot of praise, even when he does do good things on the ice. Perhaps it's because of the style of defenseman he is. Not flashy, not sexy, just solid against the rush and pretty uneventful. The mistakes are just way more noticeable when they happen because the puck usually ends up in the back of the net. He's the kind of guy Leafs Nation might miss when he's gone.
