It was an unusual morning skate for the Leafs' goalies this morning. Typically, the starting goalie occupies the home net and the backup the visitors, but the Leafs decided to switch things up today. Ilya Samsonov started in the home net, indicating he would be the starter for tonight's game against Dallas, but shortly after switched nets with Erik Kallgren.

The net switch had reporters at the skate baffled as they didn't understand what was happening They assumed Samsonov would be starting tonight, so the shift was confusing. Following the net switch, Samsonov was then seen in the "ref's crease" outside the penalty boxes taking shots from goalie coach Curtis Sanford, which only led to more questions from reporters.

Eventually, things went back to normal as Samsonov departed the skate early, as the starter normally does on game day, confirming that he would be getting the start against Dallas tonight. Either the Leafs wanted to have fun and confuse reporters or Samsonov wanted to change up his game day routine, which is odd considering he is 2-0, but we all know goalies are weird.
