After the Leafs won Game 6 and finally slayed their first round demons against Tampa with an 11 forward, 7 defenceman lineup, many thought they would use the same lineup for Game 1 against Florida. That does not appear to be the case, however, as Zach Aston-Reese was back taking reps on the fourth line.
On the back end, it appears Justin Holl will once again be a scratch as he skated on the fourth pairing with Erik Gustafsson, while Timothy Liljegren remained with Mark Giordano. The other pairings remained the same while Matt Murray joined the Leafs for his first practice since April 2nd after dealing with a concussion for the last month.
Game 1 between the Leafs and Panthers is expected to take place tomorrow night at Scotiabank Arena. The Leafs will want to avoid dropping Game 1 again to ensure that they retain home ice throughout their second round series instead of dropping either of the first two games of the series and forfeiting home ice to the Panthers.
