Matt Murray is now 6-0-1 since returning from injury and has a .932 save percentage to go along with a 2.34 GAA on the season. After posting a 44-save shutout against Dallas last night, which by the way is the best shutout since modern stats started being tracked, as he had a 5.979 goals saved above expected. Unheard of.

When asked following the game about the Leafs' current 9-0-3 stretch, Sheldon Keefe said, "the resilience of the group and our goaltending... the goaltending has been really good." He followed that up by describing Murray's performance against Dallas saying, "Perfect. Perfect on the scoresheet, perfect in the game. Came up with huge saves in big moments. Number of penalties we took could have been a real problem, but Murr was really solid. That 5-on-3, he was incredible."

For all of the questions surrounding Kyle Dubas' acquisition of Murray in the summer, the Thunder Bay native has certainly done his part to silence them early on in the season. He looks to have regained his Stanley Cup winning form from his time with the Penguins.

After an overtime loss in Tampa on Saturday, in which the Leafs gave up a third period lead, Murray and the Leafs rebounded extremely well last night. They will look to extend their 12-game point streak on Thursday as they welcome the LA Kings to Scotiabank Arena.
