Keefe has some high praise for one of his top-six forwards following some early-season injury trouble
Since returning from injury, Calle Jarnkrok has 11points in 9 games, including a goal and two assists last night against the Flyers. Not only has Jarnkrok been able to produce, he has been doing it alongside John Tavares and Mitch Marner when the Leafs were looking for someone to step up and fill the second line left wing spot.
Following their second win of the weekend, Sheldon Keefe was asked about the improved play of Jarnkrok.
"He has played a lot better for us since he's come back from the injury. I think the time with the injury really helped him get really comfortable here. I think the injury actually really helped settle things down. It allowed him some time to get comfortable. It allowed him some time to really just work at his game. Since he has come back, he has been terrific.
He complements those guys as well, as we talked about last night. He does a good job defensively. When the puck comes to him, he can make a play on it. When he is the trigger guy, he has the ability to finish."

High praise from Keefe for Jarnkrok, who has worked hard to grab the second line spot. As long as he continues to produce and do the little things defensively, the Leafs' top two lines have been solidified for the foreseeable future.
