It was the third weekend in a row that the Leafs had a back-to-back situation. Last weekend it was Boston and Carolina and the one before was Los Angeles and Anaheim. This weekend it was Pittsburgh and Vancouver. The Leafs lost 4-2 against the Pens and during his media availability before the Canucks game, Sheldon Keefe said he intended to roll the same lineup he did against Pittsburgh.

He also mentioned there was a game time decision on the blueline. That decision ended up being T.J. Brodie being scratched for Jordie Benn. No one knew why Brodie was scratched until after the game when Keefe revealed the reason.

"Day-to-day. I don't think it was one particular incident that has him feeling uncomfortable," said Keefe of Brodie. Brodie did block a shot off of the inside of the knee last night against the Pens, so that is likely the cause for his late scratch.

Benn, who hadn't played for the Leafs since a groin injury in training camp, didn't look out of place and even scored the game winner. With the Leafs off until Tuesday combined with the strong play of Benn, it will be interesting to see who comes out of the lineup if Brodie returns this week.
