In typical Toronto fashion, the Leafs' sloppy third period cost them two points against the young and inexperienced Habs last night in the season opener in Montreal. The Leafs tied it late on a goal from William Nylander only to have Josh Anderson score with 17 seconds left off of a terrible clearing attempt by Jake Muzzin.

It was entertaining for the fans, but not so much for players and coaches as Keefe said. «It was early season sloppiness, but I don't expect that. For everything our team has been through together, it's unacceptable. We have to be way more responsible. Careless. I expect more, our group should expect more. Not good enough ... deserved to lose."

Keefe didn't mince words about the team's effort or lack there of post game, but did credit Matt Murray who played well in his Leaf debut even though Keefe felt the team hung him out to dry.

The Leafs won't have much time to dwell on the loss as they have their home opener tonight against Washington where Ilya Samsonov will get the start behind what he and Keefe hope is a much better team.
