It's been roughly a month since Kyle Dubas parted ways with MLSE and subsequently became President of Hockey Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Seemingly, the dust settled on the situation a bit, too, when the Leafs hired Brad Treliving as their new GM, but that hasn't stopped Dubas from making slighting Toronto whenever he can.
First, during his introductory presser with the Pens, Dubas didn't mention Toronto or speak about the Leafs at all. Now, when asked about his new job and new home, he essential claimed that Toronto doesn't measure up to Pittsburgh.
So far, I say sarcastically; it's been a gracious exit from Toronto for Dubas, hasn't it? Naturally, though, Leafs fans aren't impressed by such a comment.
For Dubas to flip a switch and continue to be hostile towards the franchise and city he spent almost a decade with sure says a lot about his bitterness toward the entire situation. As fans, everything we see is just scratching the surface of everything that went down with what happened when Dubas severed ties with MLSE. I can understand being frustrated when considering Dubas' point of view, but the continued pettiness is not a good look.
