As the longest tenured member of the Maple Leafs and, in the minds of some fans, the rightful captain of the team, it's important that Rielly and Treliving have a good working relationship. It appears as though they've gotten off on the right foot. We'll see if that continues when Treliving begins making moves to re-shape the team to his liking.
By the sounds of it, Treliving's good first impression has eased the minds of the players after Dubas' firing. This is good news considering the fact that early reports were that some players weren't happy to see the former Leafs GM be shown the door. Of course, a first impression doesn't make or break a GM. We will have to wait until moves are made and games are played to evaluate the start of Treliving's tenure.
