You are Kyle Dubas, you can make one move to take the Leafs to the second round and beyond. What do you do? Let's take a closer look at the 4 areas the Leafs could try to improve.
To say the Leafs lack grit is a bit of an understatement. Adding someone who can play as well as stand up for teammates would be a big help to the Leafs. Max Domi is reportedly available. Should the Leafs bring him in? 5% of our Twitter poll said this was the way to go.
It's no secret the Leafs defense could use an upgrade as well, Jake Muzzin has struggled on the ice and struggled to stay in the lineup. Sandin and Liljegren have played well but are they ready to play top 4 minutes? Adding a defenceman could be a great move for the Leafs, and there are plenty available. Giordano, Chiarot, and Klingberg are all options. Should that be the move? A massive 56% of Twitter users thought so.
The duo of Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek have been porous since the start of December. Everybody knows goaltending is key to going anywhere in the playoffs. Is it best to add someone like Marc Andre Fleury? Is he even available? Or are there more important areas to improve? 24% of our poll listed goaltending as priority #1
Scoring has been an issue for the Leafs in the last few playoffs, Alex Kerfoot is fast, and hard working, but adding a scoring winger to the Leafs 2nd line would make them much tougher to shut down as a whole. JT Miller, Tomas Hertl and Filip Forsberg have all been linked to the Leafs. Is that the way to go? 15% of respondents agree.
