The Leafs are among a dozen teams with scouts taking in the Devils and Capitals game on Monday night. With three defensemen already injured and the likelihood of additional injuries occurring throughout the season, the Leafs could be looking at potential options on the blueline. This could also be a sign of where Jake Muzzin is at in terms of his health.

Both Damon Severson and Ryan Graves are in the final seasons of their contracts and could be options for the Leafs to add to their top 4. The Capitals have the likes of Nick Jensen, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Erik Gustafsson who are in the final years of their deals as well so there are lots of potential blueline options for the Leafs to observe tonight.

Additionally, the Leafs had been interested in Miles Wood in the past and he is scheduled to become a UFA at season's end. He would be the type of player that will be coveted for the playoffs by a number of teams given his versatility and style of play - something the Leafs need more of during the NHL's second season. Connor Brown is also a possible player of interest.
