Leafs Nation breathed a sigh of relief when the injured Timothy Liljegren took part in the Leafs' game-day skate in Washington this morning. However, a roster move could indicate that the relief that Leafs Nation is feeling might be a little premature.
According to the Leafs' official PR account on Twitter, the club has recalled defenseman Mac Hollowell on an emergency basis, meaning that he could very well slot in for Liljegren tonight after Liljegren had left Thursday's game with an apparent hand injury.
Hollowell has played in 6 games for the Leafs in this, his rookie season. He has just 2 assists to his credit thus far, but has not looked out of place in many of his outings - though he didn't look overly stellar in his last appearance with the Buds on December 3rd against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The other option, if Liljegren is not able to go tonight, would be veteran Jordie Benn, who was activated off of IR on Friday.
