With the Leafs having played 5 of their 8 pre-season games already, I think just about everyone knew that over the course of the next 3 pre-season games, we'd see the main roster beginning to take shape. Well, the Leafs have announced their official lineup for tonight's pre-season game against the Montreal Canadiens and, as many had speculated, we're going to see a Leafs group that closely resembles the one we'll see on opening night.

The Leafs have a lot of firepower in the lineup tonight, with all of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, John Tavares, William Nylander, Max Domi and Matthew Knies in the lineup.

In addition, injuries to John Klingberg and Conor Timmins appear to have opened up opportunities for Simon Benoit and Mikko Kokkonen, who will suit up for the Buds tonight in their absences. One interesting thing to note is that Mark Giordano is also absent, though that may be more of a load management deal than anything else.

After scoring a goal against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, Nick Robertson has joined the main forward group as well, likely signifying that he has the inside track to a roster spot out of training camp. Noah Gregor has also been listed, which may mean that his PTO with the Leafs was successful - though no official deal has been announced as of yet.
