Leafs avoid Wes McCauley for Game 2; Leafs announced for Thursday's Leafs/Panthers game
The Leafs have dodged Wes McCauley for the second straight game in their second round series against Florida. Tonight, they will be officiated by Chris Rooney and Graham Skilliter who are one of, if not the only pair that has been together throughout the entire playoffs so far.
Rooney and Skilliter have worked Game 2 of the Minnesota/Dallas series, Game 3 of the Boston/Florida series, Game 4 of the Toronto/Tampa series, Game 5 of the Rangers and Devils series and Game 7 between Seattle and Colorado. Both the Leafs and Panthers are 0-1 this post-season under tonight's officials.
Over the past three seasons, the Leafs are 5-1-1 with Chris Rooney as an official, including a 3-0-1 record this season while the Panthers are 2-2 this season. Under Skilliter over the past three seasons, the Leafs are 18-10-1 (3-1-1 this season) and the Panthers are 6-2 including a perfect 3-0 this season with Skilliter. In the playoffs so far under Skilliter and Rooney, the record for home and visiting teams is even at 2-2. Skilliter and Rooney will be joined by Linesmen Brad Kovachik and Matt MacPherson who working a game together for the first time this postseason.
