The Toronto Maple Leafs could be down a man heading into the third period of tonight's game after Sports Illustrated's David Alter pointed out that winger Calle Jarnkrok left the game during the second period with just under 7 minutes remaining and did not return.
Now, this could be nothing, as we saw Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby leave Saturday's game against the Leafs twice and returning after dealing with what some were reporting as an equipment issue. So, naturally, we're hoping for a similar issue here with Jarnkrok tonight.
If Jarnkrok did suffer some sort of an injury in tonight's game, it wasn't something that was overly noticeable, as it wasn't picked up on by anyone on the broadcast team. We'll keep an eye on the situation and provide an update as soon as we have one. For the time being, we do know that he will not return tonight.
**Update** Jarnkrok out with a groin injury, per the Leafs.
