For the fourth game in a row, the Leafs will be signing a goalie to an ATO to back up Joseph Woll tonight in New York. QMJHL netmidner Samuel Richard joined the Leafs in New York and on the ice this morning for their game-day skate and is expected to back up Woll, giving Ilya Samsonov the night off completely.

Leafs GM Kyle Dubas announced on Tuesday that Samsonov was dealing with a few minor injuries and wouldn't play the remaining regular season games. Samsonov did not skate on Tuesday, but returned to the ice today, which shows that he is improving. He appears ready to go for Game 1 against Tampa, which is excellent news for the Leafs as they also await the return of Matt Murray, who suffered a concussion earlier this month against Detroit.

Woll is making his second straight start for the Leafs and his seventh this season. Through 6 games thus far, Woll is 5-1-0 with a 2.19 GAA and very impressive .933 save percentage. Not bad for a rookie netminder who has just 10 NHL games under his belt over the last 2 seasons.
