Sometimes the hockey gods are with you and sometimes they're against you and when you're in the latter position, the bounces can be unfathomable and laughable. Today's overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks falls directly into that category with a comedy of miscues that led to a season sweep at the hands of the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks were down 3-1 early in the second period before Jason Dickinson cut the deficit in half mid-way through the period and then completed his hat-trick 15 seconds into third period to tie things up. The Leafs could not regain the lead and the game eventually went to OT.

With overtime almost complete and a shootout looming, Kevin Korchinski finished the game with 30 seconds left on one of the flukiest goals you'll see this season. Maybe ever.

Connor Bedard's initial shot from the slot went high and wide, bounced off the glass and onto the top of the net and kept bouncing before rolling over top of the bar and dropping into the blue paint, where Korchinski was able to slide it past the pad of a confused and frantic Ilya Samsonov.

Just moments before, William Nylander came within inches from not only extending the winning streak to 5 games but to extending his point streak to 18 games. On his breakaway attempt, he made a move that beat Arvid Soderblom but his shot hit both posts and the crossbar before bouncing out in a play you might never see again in your lifetime.

Soderblom has just 2 victories on the season, but both have come against the Maple Leafs. Fortunately for Toronto they don't have to see the Chicago Blackhawks anymore with their season series complete.
