The Leafs announced today that they have placed Bobby McMann on long-term injured reserve. McMann was injured against the New York Islanders back on March 21st and has not played since. When the injury occurred, Sheldon Keefe said that the injury was a knee injury and that it had become re-aggravated after a previous injury that McMann sustained with the Marlies.
The move to place McMann on LTIR was also done to free up some cap space as the Leafs prepare to activate Ryan O'Reilly from LTIR. O'Reilly has been out for the last month after having surgery to repair a broken finger suffered at the hands of a lethal Auston Matthews' wrist-shot.
In 10 games with the Leafs this season McMann registered a lone assist, but had 21 goals and 29 points in 30 games with the Marlies.
