Leafs place four more players on waivers, including Wayne Simmonds
With training camp coming to a close, and teams looking to get cap compliant by tomorrow's 5pm deadline, Leafs fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement to see who will make the final cut.
We'll have to wait one more day to see the final roster, but today, we discovered four more players who haven't made that cut. Forwards Wayne Simmonds, Kyle Clifford, Adam Gaudette and defensemen Victor Mete have been placed on waivers on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman had announced that the Leafs were shopping Simmonds to try to find him a new home to do right by the player. Obviously, given this afternoon's waiver announcement, the Leafs were unable to find a dance partner for Simmonds.
We will know at 2 p.m. tomorrow who, if anyone, has been claimed.
