As a right winger, the Leafs will be able to allow Voit to develop at his own pace as they have Mitch Marner and William Nylander in their top six along with a handful of wingers in Calle Jarnkrok, Nick Robertson and Joey Anderson under team control for multiple seasons. Voit is 19 which means the Leafs will have the ability to assign him to the Marlies after training camp next season if they feel he will be too good for the OHL - and it seems it's heading that way. He has already signed his entry-level contract, so it would be up to the Leafs to decide if they want to give him a trial in the NHL, burn a year of his ELC, have him develop with the Marlies or send him back to Sarnia to dominate once again.
Voit appears to be another late-round draft steal by Kyle Dubas and the scouting staff and would be another pick that everyone else questioned at the time, given his diminutive stature. He had 80 points in 67 games last year and given that he is already at 42, he is well on his way to eclipsing that total and potentially even surpass the 100-point plateau in Sarnia this season.
