The Toronto Maple Leafs are finally out of October and started off November right, with a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Octobers have been forgettable for the Leafs the past few seasons, with lackluster starts and poor performances. However, while there weren't many bright spots in the first month of the season for the Leafs, several Leafs prospects have gotten off to torrid starts - one of them being forward Ryan Tverberg, who had a great October, earning the Hockey East Player of the Month award.

Tverberg is a 7th round selection of the Leafs from 2020. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native is in his third season with the University of Connecticut in the NCAA and has shown tremendous growth each year. His first year, he registered 4 goals and 7 points in 14 games. Last season, he finished with 14 goals and 32 points in 38 games. So far this season, in the month of October, he played 9 games, registering 7 goals and 11 points.

Tverberg is yet to sign his ELC with the Leafs, but if he can continue playing at this level and excelling the way that he is, it's only a matter of time.
